Definition
A preparation process intended to reduce suitable surface defects in paint, often involving polishing. It is separate from applying a protective film.
Why it matters
Correction cannot restore missing paint or solve corrosion. The coating’s condition determines what is appropriate. Agree any correction before fitting; polishing on top of installed PPF is a different, product-specific question.
Apply the concept
PPF on new, used and repainted cars
Understand why the condition and history of the paint matter before film is installed or removed.
