Definition
The controlled process of releasing the adhesive film from the substrate and dealing with residues. Suitability and technique depend on film and paint condition.
Why it matters
Aged film and repainted panels warrant particular assessment. Removability is not a guarantee against paint lift on a weak coating. Tell the remover about the repair history and avoid improvised scraping or unapproved solvents.
Apply the concept
PPF lifespan, inspection and removal
Distinguish service life from warranty and plan what to do when film ages, lifts or is damaged.
