Definition
A removable protective sheet supplied on the top side of certain film products. It protects the finish during handling; the exact removal sequence is product-specific.
Why it matters
Do not count it as part of the permanent protection on the car. Follow the supplier’s instructions about when to remove it. A film without a cap sheet is not necessarily a film without a top coat.

How to compare PPF finish and quality
Use an installed sample and a documented specification to compare clear, matte, coloured and coated films.
