Definition
Localised damage caused by debris striking a surface. PPF adds a physical barrier, but the outcome depends on the impact and the film system.
Why it matters
A severe or sharp impact can penetrate film. After an incident, inspect both film and paint before deciding on replacement. PPF protects the surface within limits; it does not prevent metal dents or collision damage.
